Dumas DN Iceboat Wooden Model Kit
- Unassembled static wooden model kit
- Made of mahogany and birch plywood
- Sails and all rigging materials included
- Suitable for sailing
- Not R/C capable
The DN is the largest iceboat class in the world, so named because it was the winner of an iceboat design contest sponsored by the Detroit News in 1937. That year the newspaper opened up it’s shop to 50 builders who assembled the first fleet of “Blue Streak 60” iceboats (as it was originally named).
Dumas believes this static display all wood model is the only kit of an iceboat on the market today! A fun little boat, it is constructed out of mahogany and birch plywood and covered with mahogany veneer. Kit includes sails and all rigging material. This great little kit will make a nice addition to any modelers fleet, young or old.
Measures 19-1/2" L x 10-1/2" x 22-1/2" H with a 10-1/2" beam. Kit is intended for sail control. NOT designed for radio control.
