Kuzma Offy, 1954/56/57 National Championship, Model Car Kit, 1/25 Scale
"The Championship Trail." Simple enough, this is the term that was used predominantly through the fifties and sixties to describe the races that comprised the National Championship. Known as Indy cars today, they were known as Champ cars back then.
Al Dean entered the hunt for the National Championship by forming the Dean Van Lines team in 1953. He bought a Kuzma dirt car with Offy power and, with a number of different drivers, the team struggled to make races for the first part of the season. They won one race that year, but it was a big one, and what followed is truly what legends are made of.
