The Boeing CH-46 Sea Knight has served in the U.S Navy and Marine Corps faithfully since the early 1960s. It is a twin-turbine powered, dual-piloted, tandem rotor helicopter and is one of the largest helicopters in the U.S Navy inventory. The unique tandem-rotor design of the Sea Knight permits increased agility and superior handling qualities in strong relative winds from all directions - in particular, allowing rapid direction changes during low airspeed maneuvering. This model, the CH-46E Sea Knight #154822, had just been transferred to HMM-163 Ridge Runners based at MCAS Miramar.
Model features fine panel lines, cockpit and full interior detailing, open rear cargo door and positionable rotors. This model is painted in colors and markings unique to the United States Marine Corps, Ridge Runners. Unlike diecast metal, finer detail can be molded in plastic, and this Easy Model 'Platinum Collectible' helicopter is sure to be a valuable addition to any 1/72 scale collection or diorama.
