Instructions for #80605 Taper Jig
Some simple assembly is required before using your Taper Jig. The only tool that is required is a 3mm Hex Key (provided).

Assembly

Lay out the parts as shown in Figure 1. Be sure to position the rear plate properly (note the offset). The hinge plate is held to the front and rear plates with the short socket head cap screws and special serrated washers provided. Be sure the washers are positioned so that the serrations are facing upwards (toward the head of the screw).

Attach the nylon handle with the long screw into the center of the rear plate.

Using the Taper Jig

Tighten the screw holding the rear plate to the hinge plate very tightly, but be careful not to strip the threads. Set the angle of the front plate and tighten the front screw snugly...enough to prevent movement, but not so tight so as to permanently deform the washer.

Place the piece to be cut against the stop on the front plate. Use a push stick to hold down the piece while pushing it through the blade. Be sure the saw blade won't hit the Taper Jig.

The angle should be reset using the front plate screw only.

The position of the parts can be reversed to allow use on the other side of the saw blade.
