A Great Ship Kit for Railroad Modelers
The 950 Hp Lackawanna tug boat was built for the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad in 1900. Twin-boilered Lackawanna was 137 feet long, and her gorgeous sheer and festive air made her appear almost yacht-like. It not only burned coal for power, but also hauled barges filled with coal along the New England coast. Dumas' 33-inch model of the Lackawanna captures the beautiful lines of this classic tug boat. Kit includes vacuum-formed ABS plastic hull, expanded die-cut PVC components, laser-cut parts and a multitude of detail castings and turnings. Concise step-by-step instructions and clear plans make this kit a pleasure to build. Length 33 inches. Beam 6 inches. Scale: 1/48 (O scale). Dumas kit #1251. This kit also assembles into a fantastic running model with the addition of Running Hardware Kit #86574 (sold separately, below).*
*Please note: If you are choosing to build the Lackawanna Tug as a running model, some of the running hardware parts for the drive line system are required early in the construction process and cannot be added after assembly is complete.
