And the crafter can even manufacture his own lumber from resawn boards, or from wood sawn from small logs and other stock.

I needed about ten sheets of scribed sheetwood reduced from 1/16 to 1/32 thick. The drum thickness sander was a trooper and buzzed through them in a few minutes. I used a micrometer and the variation between boards and along each board was less than 0.003 inch. Looking around my shop, I said, 'There isn't another tool here that could do that. Bravo!'
