Works well, battery not easy to change

by John

This level lives up to expectations. It's a little bit bigger and heavier than I expected it to be. It measures 6" x 2.375" x 1.125" and weighs 8.1oz. I bought it for model railroading, to check the % grade of track slopes. It works fine.

I didn't think about it until it arrived, but it has in internal rechargeable battery. Since this thing is not exactly cheap, I wanted to make sure that it won't be a problem to replace the battery if needed. There are 6 small screws that you have to take out of the back, and you'll see that it's a 3.7V 400mAh Lithium Ion battery, with a plastic connector. These batteries are easy to find on the internet. They are commonly used in drones. They cost around $7 - $12.

The magnet is strong.

The battery indicator does not normally show. The instructions say that an empty battery icon will appear when the battery needs to be charged. It blinks when it's charging. I assume that the indicator will stop blinking when it's fully charged.
