Model Power's Plymouth DDT (hydraulic transmission) represents Plymouth Locomotive Works popular short distance, small railroad diesel switcher/locomotive.
Plymouth Locomotive Works was one of the world's most prolific small railroad locomotives builders. The engines were powered by gasoline-burning internal combustion engines, until 1927 when the first diesel was produced. The company changed its name to match its locomotive plant in the late 1950's, changing again to Plymouth Industries in the late 1970's. The DDT (hydraulic transmission) is recreated with this HO Scale model in the popular Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe paint scheme.
This model comes complete with knuckle couplings, working headlight and glazed windows. It also has all wheel pick up making it extremely reliable. An ideal locomotive for any American goods depot with it's robust design and attractive color scheme. It works well as a weathering project, for the keen modeler.
