Sand-It by Micro-Mark

Sand-It is designed to give you a quick, precision finish on wood, plastic and metal sheet and strip stock. Also works beautifully to square-up cut ends of brass tubing. Use whenever you need a fine, precise fit of parts, such as inlay work, marquetry, toys, miniature window framing, dollhouse furniture and model structural components. Works on material up to 4 inches wide x 1 inch thick x any length. Four-sided sanding block lets you have four different grits mounted at the same time. Standard sandpaper is held to block with tape or rubber cement. Includes pre-set angle guides for 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees plus protractor type guide for any angle in between.

Still a great tool, though the material is not as good as it used to be.

I first purchased this tool 30 years ago when it was known as "The True Sander" by Northwest Short Line. They have dropped the name, but it's still the same product. This is actually the third time I've bought one, as they tend to wear out over time (I do have 3 sanding blocks now). This time I noticed it's made wholly of a fine MDF type material. Past versions have been more of a hardboard material, which is more resistant to wear (the only reason it didn't get 5 stars). To counter this I applied UHMW slick tape to the surface where the sanding block slides. I also removed the fence on the old one and installed it on the bottom of the new one facing up, as sometimes it's easier to hold a piece toward you, rather than away from you. I was going to include a picture of my modified Sand-It, but that's not an option here.
