Sylvan Scale Models 45' Wooden Tug Boat Kit, O Scale

Tug boats have maneuvered slow moving and disabled vessels through waterways since the beginning of the 19th century. Early tugs were powered by the same steam engines used in the locomotives of the era, before being modernized with diesel power motors in modern times. Small, steam harbor tugboats similar to this were built from the turn of the century into the 1940's and were still in use through the 1960's.
