Trumpeter Battleship Bismarck Plastic Model Kit - 1/200 Scale
Customer Reviews Of This Item
Huge, Super Detailed Model of Battleship Bismarck is a Real Showstopper!
A result of its starring role in the 1960 film Sink the Bismarck, this German battleship is world famous. In May 1941, while heading to the North Atlantic on a mission to stop all Allied shipping, Bismarck engaged and destroyed the pride of the Royal Navy, HMS Hood. The subsequent relentless pursuit by the British involved dozens of warships and lasted several days, with Bismarck withstanding more than 400 strikes before succumbing to the damage.
The superstructure of this newly-tooled Trumpeter kit is assembled on a one-piece molded plastic hull. The main deck is also molded in one piece and has an engraved plank texture. 1,700 intricately detailed plastic parts include Ar196 seaplanes and double-ended catapult, plus a separate see-thru 15 inch main gun turret and barbette display unit with detailed interior and turned metal gun barrels. Photo-etched parts include handrails, ladders, radar antennae, brass anchor chain, ladders, and more. The color painting guide illustrates Baltic camouflage and decals represent aircraft insignia, air recognition markings, and Kriegsmarine battle flags.
Scale: 1/200, Length: 50 inches, Beam: 7 inches. Includes display stand. Trumpeter kit #TR03702.
