To obtain the highest level of intricate detail, Tamiya engineers specified polystyrene resin for cowlings, die-cast metal for suspension arms, photo-etched metal mesh, and synthetic rubber for the tires of this fantastic model assembly kit. For structural integrity, the highly-detailed V12 engine, drive train, and working suspension, including stabilizers and shock absorbers, are mounted to a strong monocoque frame. Built-in springs and dampers let the metal-hinged gull-wing doors open and shut smoothly. Front and rear cowlings open to display the model's internal details, including flexible ignition wires and brake cables, plus photo-etched seatbelt buckles.
