Bachmann's terminal rerailer serves two functions..... it connects via terminal wires to a power pack that provides the electrical current necessary to power the layout; and it's designed to correct derailments that sometimes occur during normal railroad operations. It can be used to help properly align wheels on the track when assembling your train for operation. Place it on your layout strategically where it's easily accessible if you intend to use it for that purpose. Otherwise, it should be placed behind a difficult section of track (turnout, crossing, “S” curve, etc.) where derailments may occur.
