This new Rivarossi Union Pacific #4014 “Big Boy Steam Heritage Edition” HO scale model features a new fuel tender (the real tender stems from UP “Challenger” 3985), a modified firebox, new radio antennas and other newly tooled details. DC-ready 21-pin MTC plug on board, powerful 5-pole motor and brass flywheel in boiler, both bogies (trucks) powered, front and rear drivers powered, handrails made of steel wire, RP-25 wheels, knuckle coupler on rear tender, moveable “dummy” coupler on front pilot, realistically pivoting steam delivery pipes. 18-¾" long.

Twenty-five of the massive “Big Boys” were built for Union Pacific Railroad and normally operated between Ogden, Utah, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Big Boy No. 4014 was delivered to Union Pacific in December 1941 and retired exactly 20 years later, having traveled 1,031,205 miles in its 20 years in service.
