The M198 Howitzer is a medium-sized 155mm artillery piece designed to be lightweight enough to be dropped by parachute (16,000lbs) from a cargo lift helicopter onto the combat field. Developed for service by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps to replace the WWII-era M114 155 mm Howitzer in 1979, the M198 requires a crew of 9 and is capable of firing at a maximum rate of four rounds per minute (two sustained).
From Trumpeter's "I Love Kit" series, comes this newly re-tooled 1/16 scale model version, featuring 220+ highly detail pieces that include plastic, photo-etched and metal parts, as well as rubber tires.
